NBDPN Achievement Award Winners

2001-2009

Awards Nominations 2010

Every year during the NBDPN annual meeting, the Network acknowledges achievements of individuals, programs, and agencies.  The Awards Presentation is always a shining moment for NBDPN members and others working the field of birth defects.

Have you heard of ‘great happenings’ around the Network through NBDPN committee work?   Sometimes great accomplishments are born out of ordinary persistence.  Sometimes an activity has a ‘Wow!’ impact.

From now until Tuesday, February 9, 2010, please consider nominating individuals or programs that are making a difference, including your own. Consider taking part in a group nomination effort.

The NBDPN Awards Group is soliciting nominations from the membership for the three awards listed below. The Nomination Awards forms accompany this message.

1) The Godfrey P. Oakley, Jr. Award
This award is given to an individual who has made significant contributions to the field of birth defects. Since 2001, NBDPN has presented this prestigious award in Dr. Oakley’s honor. Nomination Form

2) State Service/State Leadership Award
This award honors an outstanding contribution (or leadership) by a state birth defects program. Nomination Form

3) Birth Defects Education & Prevention Award
This award honors an agency's or birth defects program's efforts to raise public awareness of birth defects through innovative and collaborative projects. Nomination Form

Please take a moment to review the Awards Nominations Forms, and submit a nomination.  An award for that stunning achievement may be closer than you realize!  Nominations are due to Cara Mai (cmai@cdc.gov) by Tuesday, February 9, 2010.  Thank you.
